Position Summary

The Procurement Manager position at Topix is a newly created role to enable the company's further growth, scale and procurement sophistication. Historically the procurement function at Topix has been more tactical in nature. With our new leadership in place, this role has been transitioned to more strategic in nature focusing on category management.

With recently accelerated growth under new ownership and with the first acquisitions in the company's history, increased scale and complexity has required new talent, leadership, vision and strategy in the procurement function.

For the right candidate, this role affords an opportunity to define the role of strategic procurement within the organization from supporting new product development, ensuring daily execution and transactions to have what is needed when needed, to improving profit margins through sound strategic sourcing approaches and key initiatives to achieve lower total cost of ownership. In defining the processes and roles in the growing procurement organization, the Procurement Manager will lead the implementation of several procurement strategies while driving cost savings (improving profit margins/EBIDTA). They will also be expected to modernize processes to build a foundation for the next phase of the company's growth.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional background in procurement and supply management, likely working within a large multinational organization where they have acquired a broad skill set with knowledge of and experience with relevant Procurement best practices.

While the core responsibilities will start with procurement execution, this role will have the opportunity to grow for a high-energy candidate who is willing to learn and achieve. Areas of ownership and involvement include - but are not limited to - managing assigned category, strategic sourcing, cost management, supplier contracts, supplier relationship management, support Innovation on sources and supplies (packaging).

Key performance metrics include cost savings year over year, spend under contract, material receipt timeliness, accuracy of procurement function, supplier performance (On-time, Quality, Costs), value creation, and lowering overall total cost of ownership.

Qualification Standards:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, supply chain management, procurement and materials management, science, engineering or math.An advanced technical degree or an MBA is a plus as is relevant professional certification.

Experience: A minimum of 5+ years working within the procurement / supply chain function, ideally with knowledge of strategic sourcing and experience with beauty, healthcare, pharmaceutical and/or consumer packaged products.

Packaging category knowledge or Raw Materials category knowledge is required. Cosmetic industry experience is preferred.
