Position Description: Manufacturing Engineer

Overview:

The individual will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing production methods and workflows to maximize productivity and quality while minimizing costs. In addition to process improvement, manufacturing engineers also focus on product design for manufacturability. They collaborate with product designers and other engineers to ensure that products can be efficiently and effectively manufactured within the given production constraints. They may provide input on material selection, component layout, and assembly methods to optimize production efficiency and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • degree or experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Office Suite experience required.
  • certification is preferred.
  • have proven experience (8 to 10 years preferred), in an Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
  • knowledge of the engineering discipline.
  • be proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • be able to effectively communicate, orally and in writing with employees, vendors, and leadership.
  • have excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • have the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • have knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment required.
  • experience, SolidWorks strongly preferred.
  • travel may be required.
  • duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

A background in aerospace or structural steel manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements for this position may vary. Typical requirements include:

Mobility: The ability to move around the manufacturing floor, sometimes quickly, to oversee machine operations, inspect machinery, troubleshoot issues and manage the team.
  • and Carrying: Occasional lifting of, or moving heavy tools, machine parts, or equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Dexterity: Precision and dexterity in handling small tools, adjusting machinery, and performing maintenance tasks on a regular basis.

Standing for Extended Periods: Working on the manufacturing floor typically involves prolonged periods of standing or walking.

Vision and Hearing: Good vision is essential for inspecting small details, reading technical

diagrams, and ensuring quality control.

Physical Endurance: Must be able to remain alert and focused throughout the entire shift.

Safety Awareness: Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively communicate with team members, engineers, and management to convey instructions, report issues, and collaborate effectively.
