As an Estimator at CTC Contractors LLC, a commercial general contractor, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Responsibilities:
Project Analysis:
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work.
Conduct on-site evaluations to assess potential challenges, site conditions, and other factors that may impact cost estimates.
Cost Estimation:
Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and insights for accurate estimating.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify value engineering opportunities without compromising project quality.
Bid Preparation:
Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
Present and explain cost estimates to management and clients, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Market Research:
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and material costs to provide up-to-date and accurate estimates.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and industry professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
2 to 5 years of commercial construction experience, required.
Willing to learn and adapt.
Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, preferred.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
