Description: Our client is currently seeking a Cytotechnologist

Join our dynamic team as a Cytotechnologist, where you will play a crucial role in evaluating cytological specimens for acceptability and providing diagnostic interpretations. In this position, you will adhere to established cytomorphologic criteria, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines. Detect evidence of diseased conditions and pre-malignant/malignant cells while contributing to the advancement of healthcare diagnostics.


Major Responsibilities:

• Slide Examination: Conduct daily examinations of gynecological and/or non-gynecological slides according to department protocols, utilizing your expertise to identify abnormalities.
  
  


• Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records by documenting findings in the computer system and required data on daily screening and departmental logs.
  
  


• Problem-Solving: Identify and address issues that may impact test performance or result reporting, demonstrating a proactive approach to ensuring accuracy.
  
  


• Communication: Effectively communicate relevant section information or issues to supervisors, managers, or other appropriate individuals, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  
  


• Instrument Maintenance: Conduct instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methods to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
  
  


• Quality Assurance: Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of effective department QA/QC programs and monitoring, emphasizing a commitment to quality.
  
  


• Productivity: Meet and exceed productivity expectations outlined in current departmental guidelines, showcasing efficiency and dedication.
  
  


• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all laboratory safety precautions, strictly follow lab procedures as outlined in manuals, and ensure compliance with industry best security practices and regulatory guidelines.
  
  

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology.
  
  


• Certification: Cytotechnologist (ASCP) Certification.
  
  


• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Cytotechnologist screening gynecological and non-gynecological slides preferred.
  
  


• Continuing Education: Demonstrate commitment to professional growth by maintaining appropriate continuing education for certification and licensure.
