JOB SUMMARY:


Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join a Healtcare Lawfirm in Orange County. This firm is seeking someone who is dedicated to supporting the team's legal endeavors with efficiency and precision. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and coordination of files, documents, exhibit preparation, and event calendars to meet deadlines effectively. You'll play a crucial part in managing client-related matters, demonstrating superior organizational skills and proactive task management to anticipate and address upcoming legal needs.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Timely and thorough review of assigned cases and medical claims.

  • Collaborate with attorneys to identify crucial documents and issues, devising strategic plans to progress matters towards resolution.

  • Develop case plans, timelines, and discovery strategies to advance medical claims effectively.

  • Efficiently manage caseload and daily file requirements to uphold client interests.

  • Initiate requests for matter openings and handle document productions and electronic discovery under attorney direction.

  • Facilitate communication with physicians and witnesses as necessary.

  • Strive to resolve cases and claims exceeding 80% of assigned value within 365 days, on average.

  • Monitor and manage costs related to medical claim collection.

  • Keep team leads informed of case progress, identifying matters likely to proceed to trial or hearing early on.

  • Utilize E-Discovery applications for document management, redaction, and bates stamping.

  • Coordinate E-Discovery submissions to opposing counsel.

  • Ensure timely and accurate billing for services rendered.


ATTORNEY SUPPORT:



  • Aid in trial preparation, fact-gathering, and litigation preparation.

  • Assist in drafting and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery templates.

  • Manage court filings and conduct legal research.

  • Work closely with attorneys to review and assess medical claims and matters, employing paralegal skills strategically to identify and resolve legal issues efficiently.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Undertake special projects as assigned by the Director of Legal Services.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Paralegal Certification.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal.

  • Preference for candidates with healthcare experience.
