As the Data Analyst you will synthesize information from various data systems, records, reports and research sources to determine the extent to which goals and objectives are being met while assessing program and project impact.
Job Description
We are looking for a Data Analyst to work with stakeholders through scheduled and ad hoc delivery of data reports, files, spreadsheets, dashboards, and databases. This position will be a full-time 12+ month contract and hybrid (1-2 days a month on-site).
What You'll Do
Provides analysis and evaluation of data that contributes to client reports and initiatives
Gathers information through data systems, interviews, surveys, research, agency contacts, or system queries
Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with all stakeholders
Uses or develops and maintains functional knowledge of various data software packages and systems for reporting and analysis purposes. This includes: Cognos Report Studio, SAS, CIS, HCSIS, PTS, PROMISe, EHR, EIM, and various databases
Supports the implementation and Management of the client's incident management system Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) that includes reporting of incidents and working to ensure incidents are submitted according to policies and procedures
Applies complex financial, statistical, and/or mathematical methods to analyze data
Reviews and analyzes policy, guidance, and procedures and interprets laws, policies, and procedures affecting agency operations
Develops or assists in developing program performance measures and monitors, updates, calculates, and recommends adjustments to performance measures to determine program effectiveness
Analyzes program operations and recommends the modification of program policies and procedures to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
Responds promptly and accurately to inquiries regarding program or project information
Designs, develops, maintains, and enhances reporting practices that provide client leadership with detailed and accurate information as a base for policy and decision-making efforts
Monitors trends to identify opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations that can be initiated for improved outcomes
Collaborates with administrative and program office leads to determine evaluation parameters and methods
Develops standardized data collection methods and tools; gathers data, synthesizes or reassembles data collected by others; applies statistical, mathematical, or systems methods to analyze data to develop new facts and relationships
Prepares final work product utilizing graphs or tables prepared by others or self-generated; presents information orally in meetings and through written narrative or statistical reports
Develops training materials and provides guidance and training in analysis and evaluation methodology and techniques for other client divisions/staff.
Create and document specifications, process designs and data integrity checks for each initiative or program included in this analytics project
What You'll Need
3-5 years of Data Analysis experience
SQL experience
Data visualization tools - Tableau
Python/R experience
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
