Job Description:

Position Title: Project Manager (Engineering, Industrial, Energy, Construction)

Reports To: Project & Application Engineering Manager - Energy & Industry

Position Summary:

The primary role of the individual holding this position is to own the management of active customer orders from inception through completion for the Company's Energy market segment. This position demands multi-tasking with sales management, application engineering, procurement, shop operations, field service, logistics, accounting, credit management, and invoicing, as the point person on Energy market customer orders. The person in this role is responsible for monitoring and tracking the contractually designated project schedule and deliverables, ensuring adherence to contract requirements and timely execution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Project Management - Establish, document, and communicate effective project structuring, monitoring/tracking performance against milestones and deadlines, while keeping projections and expectations current and conveyed.
  • Documentation - Ensures most current order status is thoroughly recorded and available to applicable parties, with all necessary associated documentation completed and appropriately issued, filed, and maintained.
  • Communication - Effectively communicates with necessary internal colleagues at all levels and throughout all applicable departments and locations across the Company; serves point of contact role for customer representative and, when required, works through the supply chain colleagues to interact with vendors associated with respective orders.
  • Physical Demands -Capable to stand for an extended period of time. Infrequent heavy lifting, 50 pounds or less. On rare occasion, may need to visit customer sites or other KSB locations.
  • Time Management - Reliable attendance; manages time for the day-to-day responsibilities in adherence to associated initiative requirements, completing assignments in allotted time. Effectively prioritizes tasks to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Tasks / Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for KSB, Inc. as the responsible party for all activities associated with the assigned Customer Orders. Activities will include routine customer calls, coordination with internal KSB, Inc. colleagues (Accounting, Application Engineering, Field Service, and Supply Chain), coordination with KSB Factories, and coordination with Sub-Suppliers.
  • Establish and manage project schedules specific to each Customer Order. Schedule scope to include internal factory/sub-supplier purchasing, equipment production/testing timing, final delivery, and miscellaneous project-specific milestones. Schedule is to be updated regularly with the latest information and maintained in a way that ensures visibility of the project status to KSB management. Schedule to be managed in parallel with KSB's ERP system (INFOR) to ensure accuracy and visibility to KSB management. Project Manager is to notify KSB Management of pending issues (missed milestones, late delivery, etc.).
  • Establish and manage customer invoice schedules specific to each Customer Order. Schedule scope is to include detailed requirements for qualifying each invoicing milestone as executable and the targeted execution date. Schedule is to be updated as needed to ensure accurate target execution dates. Schedule to be managed in parallel with KSB's ERP system (INFOR) to ensure visibility to KSB management and accounting personnel. Project Manager to notify KSB Management of pending issues (missed milestones, inability to obtain required documentation, etc.).
  • Establish and manage project cash flow schedule. Schedule will include the details of the customer invoice schedule and KSB, Inc.'s expected schedule for paying the KSB factories and sub-suppliers. Schedule to be updated as needed to ensure accuracy. Project Manager to notify KSB Management in the event of major shifts in cash flow and potential negative cash flow.
  • Establish and manage document submittal schedules specific to each Customer Order. Schedule scope is to include the contractually obligated submittals, their due dates, and any applicable penalties for late submittals. Project Manager is responsible for coordinating with KSB factories and sub-suppliers to ensure receipt of required documentation and timely submittal to the Customer. Schedule to be updated regularly to ensure accurate submittal statuses. Project Manager is to expedite documentation as required and notify KSB Management of pending issues (late document submittals, potential penalties, etc.).
  • Coordinate Customer Order Closeout and transition to KSB SupremeServ (Field Service, Parts Sales, and Warranty). Duties include executing customer final invoice, issuance of required security instruments (Letters of Credit, Bonds, etc.), and conveyance of project details to KSB SupremeServ personnel ultimately responsible for Customer's jobsite.
  • Travel time is not expected to exceed 5%. Participation in overseas meetings and/or training sessions may be required, as well as occasional travel for temporary support of other domestic KSB entities.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required in related discipline, preferably business management or industrial engineering; prefer PMP certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in successful project management in a related industry or with industrial products and/or services.
  • Broad experience in business operations (i.e., demonstrated knowledge of activities across multiple functions), preferably with an international organization.
  • Project management skills with ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and balance priorities through planning, execution, reporting, and effective controls.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-site operations and deploying and managing project fulfillment stages through others (i.e., coordinate functional and subject matter experts in successfully executing order elements to completion).
  • Effectively conversant in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
