An insurance provider in the Charlotte, NC area is looking for a Statistical Reporting Analyst for a large commercial insurance provider. This position is responsible for compiling, developing, and analyzing premium, loss and expense data to support external and internal reporting requirements of a statutory or statistical nature. They will also be responsible for preparing and filing statistical reports, data calls, and assessment reports in a timely and accurate manner to boards, bureaus, federal and state agencies. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Compiles and analyzes data in preparation to submit reports of premium and claims statistics to state insurance department, NCCI, independent rating bureaus and regulatory agencies.
Responds to regulatory agencies, NCCI's and independent rating bureaus' questions after researching and resolving issues with business units.
Works with ISO (outsourced process) to ensure unit statistical reports are timely and accurately submitted.
Act as a liaison with ISO, NCCI and other state rating bureaus on statistical reporting issues.
Manages the DMV reporting process working with ISO (CV-ALIR), Business Operations, IT and State DOI's. Investigate/correct Auto Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR) errors. Monitor errors, fines and industry changes.
Pay all state and bureau fund assessments and surcharges.
Submits new and renewal application fees for Company licenses in accordance with statutory requirements.
Investigates data quality issues and develops workflows for resolution.
Document requirements for new and changes to existing regulatory reports and data extracts
Assist in the development and testing of Medical and Indemnity Data Calls.
Validate new regulatory reports and extracts, assist in troubleshooting discrepancies and perform user testing.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with technical and business team members.
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
MUST HAVES:
1+ years' experience in commercial insurance or similar regulatory compliance
Knowledge and understanding of premiums, losses, claims, policies
SharePoint and Excel experience
PLUSSES:
Commercial Insurance knowledge a plus but not required.
College Degree
Prior experience preparing and submitting reports, data calls, NCCI unit statistical reporting process and paying assessments to state insurance departments, NCCI and independent rating bureaus and regulatory agencies a plus
