Description: Our client is an industry leader in Transportation and warehousing and are currently seeking a Distribution Center manager for their facility located just outside of Indianapolis, IN. They take pride in our efficient and customer-focused distribution center. As a small but growing operation, we are committed to excellence and teamwork.
Position Overview: We are seeking a Distribution Center Manager to lead our close-knit team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in overseeing daily operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless distribution of goods.
Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of warehouse associates, supervisor, and administrative staff. -
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, stock rotation, and order fulfillment. -
Process Optimization: Continuously improve warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. -
Quality Assurance: Ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping. -
Safety Compliance: Implement safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment. -
Vendor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to streamline logistics. -
Performance Metrics: Monitor KPIs related to productivity, accuracy, and on-time delivery. -
Budget Management: Control expenses within budgetary guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a distribution center manager or similar role.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
