Role description:

As a client-facing engineer and project manager in ITS, your role would involve a range of responsibilities focused on improving safety and operations. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior program managers, project managers, and engineers to lead the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) design and operations delivery for programs and projects across the Southeast.

Role accountabilities:

• Serve as client facing project manager on ITS projects with a focus on improving safety and operations.
• Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects and programs.
• Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management.
• Present technical results and recommendations to clients.
• Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts including survey, roadway design, and environmental to successfully deliver client projects.
• Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans.
• Utilize knowledge and experience in the design of ITS systems and operations.
• Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others.
• Assist and Lead project team in the preparation of ITS Design, TSMO operational planning, ITS communication, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
• Under leadership of senior program managers, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical and operational elements of the project and present analysis results.
• Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to obtain Florida PE within 2 months of hire.
• Must possess a U.S. Driver's License

Key Attributes:

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: FDOT design standards, ITS design principles, Integration of new technologies, TSMO operations, emerging technologies,
• Understanding of the application of ITS, TSMO, and Traffic design and operational principles including ITS systems, technologies, application development, and development of state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures.
• Experience in operational and/or safety analysis.
• Experience/familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in groups as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering
• Experience managing tasks and/or projects.
• Experience with FDOT clients and projects.
