Job Description:

Are you a Project Engineer or recent graduate with a background in structural steel? Interested in a new position that offers overtime pay, extra pay on the weekends, 401k match, medical coverage, car allowances, and gas and toll coverage?


Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with a background in Structural Steel to join their team. This client is a Long Island based specialty contractor that has over 30 years of success providing structural steel, heavy highway, bridge, MTA, DOT, Port Authority, and commercial construction assistance to projects throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with structural steel involving rail, bridge, airport, elevator, DOT, MTA, or highway projects. However, candidates with experience gained through educational studies will also be considered.


Responsibilities:


- Conduct field visits to assess project requirements


- Read, interpret, and approve drawings


- Plan installations and oversee construction progress


- Work weekends with overtime included


- In-office 2-3 days per week


Requirements:


- 1-5 years of experience with structural steel is required


- Ability to read, interpret and approve drawings


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


- Ability to work hands-on - Ability to work hands-on


- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
