The Role
Under the direction of EHS Manager , the EHS Intern is responsible for supporting a variety of strategic EHS initiatives at both Callery and Ambridge manufacturing locations.
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
Responsible for personal safety
Attend EHS team meetings (daily, weekly, monthly)
Develop and update site specific job safety analysis forms. Collaborate with site leadership and operators in form development and training.
Perform safety inspections and audits related to a variety of workplace safety programs.
Review and improve site specific PPE assessments.
Assist in updating lockout tagout procedures in conjunction with EHS Manager and electrician.
Perform administrative tasks in support of site safety administration.
Special assignments or projects related to emerging EHS demands.
Assist in data collection for preventative maintenance (PM) program at Callery location.
Technology
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Basic usage of laptops, audio devices, television displays
Familiarity with web-based safety research
Knowledge
Basic knowledge of the principles of Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, and safety programs
Familiarity with common forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) and their usage
Ability to identify basic safety deficiencies related to housekeeping, fire prevention, electrical safety, machine guarding, cranes/forklifts, and safe work behaviors.
Knowledge of root cause analysis principles

Education and Experience
1-2 years of undergraduate studies in safety management principles or similarly focused program.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, sit and stand intermittently for 8 hours per day.
Ability to climb ladders and kneel or squat.
Capable of sitting for extended time in an office computer setting
