Manager, Taxation opportunity in Richardson, TX. Service Experts is a U.S. based company with one overall Canadian parent company owned by a large publicly traded fund.
This role will work closely with Accounting and Financial Reporting teams in Texas and Georgia; Subsidiaries have significant U.S. operations as well as a consolidating Canadian parent company. This role will manage and develop the lone Income Tax Senior and report directly to the Senior Tax Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of quarterly income tax provisions and support the budget and forecast functions
Manage the tax return compliance process by coordinating with external advisors and the North American Accounting Center "NAAC" to timely file income tax returns and tax payments for federal and in all state and local jurisdictions
Review federal book to tax adjustments and state tax adjustments
Review federal plus state and local tax account reconciliations
Review income tax calculations for quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments
Prepare and review tax fixed asset reports for all entities by working closely with the company's NAAC
Assist with governmental tax audits (mainly state and local tax), including gathering information and drafting responses
Review responses to state and local taxing authorities for all tax correspondence received
Create tax data collection systems by coordinating with internal departments (accounting, legal, IT) to obtain information needed for tax analysis during compliance and provision
Assist with special projects including due diligence and M&A transactions
Prepare technical tax research for tax compliance, provision and ad hoc research projects
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting/tax
CPA/MST strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a corporate tax department and/or national CPA firm
Extensive experience in preparing Federal and multi-state income tax return compliance encompassing Federal Forms 1120, 1120-F and state and local tax reporting for corporations and LLCs
Experience managing tax return compliance process
Software experience with Corptax, Sage Tax Fixed Assets, Hyperion and SAP preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments
Strong intermediate to advanced use/knowledge of Excel required
