TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position


ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc., and will be assigned to the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), at the CDC, located at 4770 Buford Highway NE, Chamblee Campus, Atlanta, GA 30341 to provide services to satisfy the program management and analytical objectives for DHDSP.


SCOPE OF WORK

The Health Scientist V will independently apply scientific expertise to support PDSB efforts and programs, including support of partners via cooperative agreements.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with staff on projects examining CVD, CVD-related risk factors, and CVD-related healthcare services, with a focus on analyses using clinical, administrative, and cost data. Specifically, conceptualize, design, implement, and disseminate analyses and publications.
  • In collaboration with team and branch leadership, plan and conduct new epidemiologic and surveillance projects to accomplish strategic goals and objectives, including efforts to assess health disparities and advance health equity.
  • Collaborate with staff across the Division and Agency to develop and implement comprehensive data-driven methodologies to inform program initiatives and potential resource allocation to operationalize health equity.
  • Engage with funded and non-funded partners and collaborators to identify, document, implement data-driven actions to address the impacts of racism and other social injustices on cardiovascular health outcomes, specifically high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and stroke.
  • Collaborate with staff on projects examining analyses informed from a variety of data sources, both publicly and commercially available, aimed at providing a holistic view of priority areas, setting goals to improve health outcomes, and tailoring strategies to maximize community impact.
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Master's in Public Health (MPH) with at least three years of experience in a relevant field, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least seven years of experience in a relevant field.

Required:

  • Experience related to heart disease and stroke prevention, or management of chronic health conditions strongly preferred.
  • Specific experience in public health or not-for-profit health/medical professional organization supporting program planning and budget administration, program development and management, and communications, publications preferred.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and perform independently.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience related to heart disease and stroke prevention is strongly preferred.

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

REQUIREMENT: Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States.
