ADVANCEMENT SYSTEMS ANALYST

Position Number: S-3308
Position Summary:
The Advancement Systems Analyst is responsible for providing strategic direction and technological expertise to advance end-user reporting, data integrity auditing, and analytics. This position is responsible for developing short and long-term strategies that will provide end-users with reliable data and useful analytics. An ability to develop collaborative partnerships with other areas of the campus community is a critical component of this position's success. The incumbent must exhibit a high degree of independence, initiative, and responsibility in the execution of all projects and assigned tasks. This position directly reports to the Director of Advancement Services.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree, preferably in project management, information technology, business administration, or computer science, or a combination of education and experience that equates to two years.
One year of experience in business/systems analysis.
Experience with relational databases.
Demonstrated understanding of analytical techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills.
Strong critical thinking skills and analytical abilities.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Knowledge of SQL & SQL Management Studio.
Ability to learn new technology/computer skills as required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in project management, information technology, business administration, or computer science.
General understanding of the structure of higher education and familiarity with a college environment.
Awareness of fundraising strategies in higher education.
Knowledge of Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT .
Duties & Responsibilities:
Translates user requests into accurate reflections of requirements, provides recommendations and plans for handling data, documents processes, anticipates user needs, writes accurate and detailed reports, develops and delivers training materials for using self-serve system functions.
Partners with the Director in the strengthening of an effective and accurate end-user reporting environment.
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, designs, and evaluates reporting processes and efforts.
Implements the production of standard and special data reports.
Provides continual education to requestors as to appropriate, desirable parameters for data requests.
Develops efficient methods for reporting productivity and gift information internally and externally.
Takes a leadership role in identifying incomplete or incorrect data and identifying opportunities for enhancement of data quality; runs weekly/monthly utilities to find inaccurate data and develop new methods for detecting data inconsistencies.
Responsible for the proactive automation of reporting, database administration, and mailing lists.
Creates flexible SQL data tables, views, and procedures that are purposeful to end users' needs.
Serves as backup to the Assistant Director of Advancement System Services and is responsible for knowing frequently used procedures to ensure the servers are running correctly and knowing how to use administrator tools to ensure the integrity of the Raiser's Edge system.
Coordinates with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes.
Develops relationships with internal and external vendor partners, working with them to optimize and enhance processes and integrations, with guidance from leadership.
Analyzes process issues and bottlenecks and makes improvements under the direction of leadership.
Reports on common sources of technical issues or questions and makes recommendations to the product team.
Performs related tasks as assigned, to support an effective Advancement office to better serve the needs of the University, donors, and alumni.
