Asst Crew Chief at Columbia Helicopters, Inc. in Aurora, Oregon

Job Description:

Supervises field crew in maintaining a large helicopter, its component parts and the ground support equipment needed for the job. Maintains the aircraft to ensure it is in an airworthy condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• 40% Performs maintenance & inspection activities on aircraft and support equipment.  Schedules and conducts major component changes and test flights.


• 20% Supervises maintenance crew performing repairs and inspections of aircraft and support equipment in absence of Crew Chief.


• 15% Ensures that all log books and forms recording the work performed are accurate and are maintained to FAA and CHI standards.

• 15% Provides on the job training to other employees.


• 5% Coordinates crew and equipment movement and logistics for aircraft operation from site to site.


• 5% Schedules work shifts and duty time for crew members.


• Performs work safely and utilizes the appropriate technical data for the assigned task.


• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Supervisor or management experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees


• A&P certificate required.


• Meet the training requirements of GP-105 manual or applicable PQS manual.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present ideas, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels both internal and external to the company.


• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.


• Ability to access all portions of aircraft for maintenance and inspection purposes.


• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.


• Maintain a valid Driver’s license (To drive company vehicles).
