Job Description:

Department:   Accounting & Revenue Recognition
Reports to:     Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting
FLSA Status:  Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
Include but are not limited to the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned on an ad-hoc basis:
•    Maintain the general ledgers for corporate and REIT entities; prepare all corporate close journal entries and complete corporate account balance sheet reconciliations 
•    Perform monthly variance analyses for corporate P&Ls and prepare detailed explanations for variances over prescribed thresholds
•    Prepare daily cash entries and compile and distribute the daily cash report to members of the executive team, as well perform monthly bank reconciliations for corporate entities
•    Support the A/P function in reviewing weekly payables reports to verify cash on hand prior to processing corporate payments, and track outstanding check and virtual card payments for re-issuance
•    Manage corporate A/R for JV and third party billbacks, including invoicing and collections
•    Review corporate and legal invoices for appropriate coding, tax details, GL use and treatment, including initiating corporate vendor set-ups
•    Assist in the completion of any required corporate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc analyses
•    Assist in documenting accounting and reporting procedures
•    Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with stakeholders across the organization, as well as with third party service providers
•    Support various elements of the payroll function (i.e. prepare JEs and reconciliations)
 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
•    CPA or active CPA candidate preferred
•    4+ years related accounting experience, real estate or public accounting preferred
•    JD Edwards software proficiency preferred
•    Nexus software proficiency preferred

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES
1.    Proficiency with MS Office required (Excel, Word, Outlook)
2.    Must possess analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
3.    Must possess excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
4.    Must exercise professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
5.    Knowledge of financial information related to financial statements and related accounting matters, with IFRS experience preferred
6.    Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on performing tasks completely and accurately
