Location: Charlotte, NC


Duration: 12+ Months


Responsibilities:

• 
  Process Improvement: Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives within Database Engineering. Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose solutions.


• 
  Assignment Analysis: Review and analyze basic or tactical Database Engineering assignments. Conduct research, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.


• 
  Independent Judgment: Exercise independent judgment while resolving low to moderately complex situations. Develop an understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.


• 
  Client Communication: Provide information and updates to client personnel in the Database Engineering domain.

Critical Role:



This position plays a critical role in creating a consistent operating model across Teradata, ETL, and Hadoop. Key focus areas include:

• 
  Roadmap Creation and Tracking: Develop and track roadmaps for Teradata, ETL, and Hadoop platforms.


• 
  Technology Refresh Planning: Plan and execute technology refresh cycles.


• 
  Consumption Analysis: Analyze platform usage and consumption patterns.


• 
  Risk Management: Contribute to vulnerability remediation efforts and improve risk management practices.

Additional Scope:



The role extends beyond Teradata to include ETL and Hadoop platforms. By expanding roadmap creation and tracking, scalability and stability of our platforms will be better managed.

Desired Qualifications:

• 
  Infrastructure Management: Familiarity with infrastructure management practices.


• 
  Database Management: Experience in database management.


• 
  Platform Expertise: Knowledge of platforms such as Teradata, Hadoop, and ETL technologies (Ab Initio, Informatica).


• 
  Industry Best Practices: Sound understanding of industry best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 
  Experience: 2+ years of Database Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, or military experience.


• 
  Education: Relevant educational background in database engineering or related field.
