Position Summary

Plans and manages data and analytics projects of high complexity and confidentiality. Leads critical initiatives to ensure results contribute business value and align with strategy. Integrates predictive modeling, scenario testing, cost-benefit and other analytic results in the development of business solutions. Provides data-driven insights and strategic counsel to business leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.

Oversees objectives, plans and scope for section projects including expenses, tasks, deliverables, resources, assignments and dependencies. Consults on change management impacts. Ensures coordination with business area and Centers of Excellence to schedule, prioritize and delegate tasks as required.

Leads and identifies short- and long-range data and analytics objectives related to targeted business objectives. Measures the effectiveness of the data and analytics strategies in driving performance improvement.

Creates models and develops data warehouse programs of high complexity ensuring business needs are met, including understanding ERIE's demographics and potential opportunities. Analyzes metrics and supports audit of source data.

Maintains current knowledge of data analysis tools and trends. Identifies gaps in current services, proposes solutions and implements changes as appropriate.

Applies knowledge of programming languages and software tools to analyze the financial implications of business decisions and identify approaches to resolve business problems. Monitors and reports on progress and results as requested.

Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.

Oversees in-depth research and analysis related to assigned projects and issues. Provides research recommendations and interprets relevant data.

Qualifications

The minimum education and experience requirements are as follows:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, market research, statistics or business-related field. Advanced degree preferred. Seven years of experience in data analysis, statistics, strategic planning, financial analysis, business analysis or related field, required, or;

Associate degree in marketing, market research, statistics or business-related field and nine years of experience in data analysis, statistics, strategic planning, financial analysis, business analysis or related field, required, or;

High school diploma or GED with eleven years of experience in data analysis, statistics, strategic planning, financial analysis, business analysis or related field, required.

Experience in one or more areas of business operations required. Supervisory experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.

An understanding of analysis and research required. Experience with dataset, programming, querying and reporting design required. Advanced knowledge of SAS (or comparable programming language) required. Knowledge of statistical and financial analysis and quantitative techniques preferred. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software required. Proficiency with research specific, statistical report writing software preferred.
