SUMMARY

Perform a variety of duties to manage the capacity plan and associated schedule requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. High level of knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  2. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  3. Ability to multitask and effectively communicate across all levels.
  4. Superior knowledge of ERP system and the associated processes.
  5. Skills and experience with scheduling and planning modules within a current ERP solution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Operations Manager and Plant Manager to determine if schedule requirements can be met within the established due date.
  • Coordinate with various departments and perform all production scheduling activities in the facility to include new equipment and part sales demand streams.
  • Evaluate performance and prepare plans for capacity procedures and provide comprehensive support for same.
  • Consider current schedule demands to provide due dates when requested.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are fully aware of production status through regular communication of work planning and execution objectives.
  • Identify and assess any short-term schedule risk. Collaborate with manufacturing and purchasing to identify mitigation strategies to avoid schedule disruptions.
  • Communicate priority to manufacturing by utilizing the dispatch report to set schedule and expedite work orders.
  • Identify and assess any mid to long term capacity risk. Collaborate with manufacturing and purchasing to identify mitigation strategies to avoid supply disruptions.
  • Manage and maintain all system parameters for capacity inputs, production schedule and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Design and schedule all weekly production and ensure effective implementation of schedule.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
  • Follows all safe work practices, monitor and correct/eliminate safety hazards / violations as they are discovered.
  • The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers' facilities:
  1. Company approved safety glasses or goggles and steel/composite toe shoes.
  2. Appropriate hand protection, respiratory and hearing protection in designated areas.
  3. Company hard hat and fall protection (body harness) as required.
  4. Appropriate clothing and other safety equipment as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership and direction to help accomplish work with regard to safety, productivity and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Two-year degree from a college or technical school and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have an emphasis in supply chain or operations with planning experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:. Basic math skill and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel, ERP system proficiency required.
  • EQUIPMENT: Computer and other general office equipment.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: APICS CPIM certified preferred
