POSITION - Union: Leak Survey Tech II (BGC-MA-Pittsfield) (R-04343)


NUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 1


LOCATION: BGC-MA-Pittsfield


Responsibilities


To perform mobile & walking Fl survey of all mains & services in the Berkshire Gas distribution system. The outside survey will take place from approximately April through December and perform miscellaneous surveys and survey related duties during the winter months.


MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform surveys and document daily on laptop and download weekly the information into database.


• Document daily main surveys on company provided area maps and electronic data terminal.


• Report all Class I leaks to dispatch immediately.


• Document & communicate daily all Class II & Class Ill leaks on company provided leak reports.


• Miscellaneous survey work throughout the year:

  • Preconstruction Street - Valve Box. Survey
  
  
  • Pre & Post Blasting Survey
  
  
  • Cast Iron Encroachment Survey
  
  
  • System Upgrade Survey
  
  
  • Respond to daily leak call-ins (odor complaints)
  
  
  • Perform building and business district surveys and provide data daily
  
  
  
  

Skills and Requirements


Education & Experience/Training Required:

• High School Diploma or GED / Drivers license

Skills Abilities:

• Ability to operate company vehicles


• Basic computer skills


• Map reading


• Safe working practices


• Must pass physical fitness test
