Inventory Control Specialist

Wilsonart, Temple, Texas has an immediate opening for an Inventory Control Specialist. The Inventory Control Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient stock movement, and timely replenishment within the distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a keen understanding of inventory control procedures. Performs other task as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Records inventory levels, stock movements, and transactions in inventory management software.
  • Regularly monitor stock levels to prevent stockouts and excesses, ensuring pre-determined stock levels are maintained.
  • Notify procurement and warehouse teams when replenishment orders are needed and coordinate stock transfers.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and investigate any discrepancies, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize proper labeling, tagging, and coding of stock items to facilitate easy identification and tracking.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control strategies to improve overall efficiency and minimize inventory holding costs.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and shipping processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to stock control and inventory management.
  • Generate canned reports from inventory management software.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stock storage area, optimizing space utilization and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on stock availability, discrepancies, and any inventory-related issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with inventory management software systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in inventory records
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different departments
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to carry out tasks that involve lifting, moving, and organizing inventory items

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED.

EXPERIENCE:

Three plus years of experience in inventory control, stock management, or related roles within a distribution center or warehouse environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy Work - Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials of 50 to 100 pounds.
