Job Overview:



We are seeking a seasoned Safety Counsel to join our legal team on a part-time, indefinite contract basis. This remote role is designed for a skilled attorney with a deep understanding of safety regulations within the manufacturing sector. You will be instrumental in overseeing the safety concerns of a large, multifaceted manufacturing company, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert legal advice and support on issues related to workplace safety and health regulations.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment across all company facilities.

  • Manage and oversee internal investigations of accidents and other safety incidents, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing company exposure.

  • Represent the company in dealings with regulatory bodies such as OSHA and other governmental agencies.

  • Prepare and review reports on safety compliance and recommend legal actions when necessary.

  • Travel quarterly to various company sites to conduct on-site reviews and update safety compliance measures.


Qualifications:



  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in legal practice with significant expertise in safety and health law, particularly within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state safety laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
