As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing our company's cost structure to enhance profitability and efficiency. You will work closely with various departments to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data related to production, inventory, and operational expenses. Your insights and recommendations will directly impact strategic decision-making processes within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate costing and valuation.
Prepare and maintain cost accounting records and reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct variance analysis to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process by providing cost-related insights and projections.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Participate in inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting cost accounting principles.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5+ years of cost accounting experience
SAP experience is required
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
