Industrial Project Manager

Wyandotte, MI

A woman-owned Michigan based electrical contractor is looking for an Industrial Project Manager to join their team based in Wyandotte!

Job Summary: To lead, develop/grow and support the Industrial Division. Build and maintain new and existing relationships with current, past and future clients. Create and update cost competitive estimates for clients projects. Execute and control project costs through the management of manpower, subcontractors, and materials. Follow all site-specific safety rules. Provide a high level of customer support all while following the Douglas Electric standards of Safety & Compliance as well as exemplifying the DEC values and being a member of the leadership team. Manage direct reports made up of Industrial Job Leads & Industrial Superintendents.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and bidding - Perform accurate takeoffs from review of drawings, or onsite reviews to capture costs of materials and labor; develop strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to deliver the best services possible.
  • Leading, Managing and building an effective project team to manage and complete projects. Manage the estimate and develop job leaders to bring the projects in on time and on or under budget. Ensure job leaders and subcontractors abide by and adhere to site specific safety rules and regulations.
  • Strategic Growth - Building relationships with Owners, and General Contractors, both new and existing to help grow this division.
  • Purchasing and buyout of materials that meet specifications at the most cost-effective rates possible. Develop close relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Scheduling - work with owners, job leads, project managers and subcontractors to forecast upcoming work and properly schedule manpower for current and future projects.
  • Leadership team membership - be a key player on the DEC leadership team to help strategically grow DEC. Including helping to meet critical objectives withing the business, participating in meetings, and the annual planning session.

Technical/Administrative/Experience Requirements:
  • Construction Management Degree preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician, preferred, but not required
  • Procore and Electrical Estimating Software knowledge preferred
  • Computer Efficient (MS Office)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Safety & NEC proficient
  • Minimum 7 plus years of experience in Industrial Estimating and Project Management
