Job Description:

Rimere is on a mission to solve climate change and meet the energy needs of the future. Our two devices use advanced plasma technology to break apart methane at a molecular level before recombining the elements into valuable new compounds. This allows us to mitigate methane emissions, develop zero-emission hydrogen, and produce graphene, a solid nanocarbon with extraordinary properties.

Summary

The Project and Product Development Engineer will focus on bringing products to market. They will have the opportunity to:
  • Work with team of scientists and engineers to create prototypes, test products and ensure that the final product meets all requirements.
  • Perform project management, quality assurance and market research.
  • Experience with new product design and manufacturing.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities related to the design, engineering, planning, installation, and construction, equipment commissioning of multiple complex project and product development.
  • Develop and manage performance metrics, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Advance and manage new products technology readiness level, from design, through lab and field prototype testing and to commercial readiness stage.
  • Take high-level requirements and turn them into detailed specifications and ensure that the final product meets target specifications and needs.
  • Continuously evaluate and modify product development strategies based on feedback, market trends and sales performance.
  • Work closely with the management team to discover business needs, expectations, quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with management team to develop product launch plans, pricing, and promotions.
  • Research and establish manufacturing options for products.
  • Oversee the production phase of product development, working closely with manufacturers to ensure cost-effective and timely production.
  • Manage product development budget and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the aspects of product development with applied experience in engineering, contract negotiation, team management, and implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify critical areas and implement corrective strategies, procedures, and processes.
  • Review and update contracts, specifications, budgets, and other documentation to ensure all information is available and consistent to successful execution. Schedule and hold the regular development meeting with the team, provide update on scopes changes and status.
  • Travel to various locations to manage and coordinate product development. Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Product Development or related field, plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Preferred experience:
  • Working knowledge of CAD and scheduling software.
  • Experience with natural gas, hydrogen assessments, municipal planning and development process, entitlement and building permits.
  • Solid technical background and familiar with all stages of the product development process.
  • The ability to work well with scientists in an R&D environment to manage technology advancement guiding and supporting product development.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Have a sharp mind and excellent communication skills.
  • Work under pressure and always on the lookout for ways to improve the product.
  • Solid understanding of how to deploy and test products and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiar with the latest product development trends and excited to try out new ways to improve processes.
  • Ability to think outside the box, devise creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Passionate about bringing new ideas to market.
