Job Title: Designer

Department: Product Design and Development

Location: Fairlawn, OH.

SUMMARY: The Designer will work with the design team to assist in the development of prints, patterns, and colors for use in the interior finishing industry. The Designer will work to understand the business and market needs to support the development of product solutions that position Koroseal Interior Products as a design leader in the interiors market.

In This Position You Will Have the Opportunity to:
  • Develop knowledge of the Gravure and Digital manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Maintain quality driven productivity goals established by the VP of design and development.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including design, product, marketing, digital, technical, production and sales team members.
  • The ability to perform and maintain a competitive analysis of products by category, color and design.
  • Implement creative and constructive feedback from the design, marketing, technical and sales team members to
  • Maintain a close understanding of work assignments, project priorities, and quality of work performed without sacrificing project deliverable deadlines and goals.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including design, marketing, digital, technical, production and sales to ensure design consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to understand project requirements and translate in visual designs.
  • Develop original and innovative designs that align with the company's brand and product offering.
  • Assist in the preparation of market research, presentations, meetings, and events.
  • Be prepared to make color calls in production.

• Provide housekeeping for Design Studio.
• Assist with process improvements.
• Comply with all Koroseal Interior Products Guidelines for Appropriate Behavior.
  • Adhere to all Departmental, Company and Safety policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed in this Position:
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree with equivalent experience in graphic design.
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, pattern creation and design composition.
  • Proficient in Photoshop and/or AVA.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good Communication and written skills.
  • Self-directed Individual w/excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Must maintain a good record of attendance.
  • Display and demonstrate a professional and ethical work attitude.
  • Receive a satisfactory performance evaluation on his/her last review.

The job requires a minimum amount of travel per year. On average less than 15%. Travel will consist of visits to the lab and plant in Louisville, Kentucky to develop designs and execute them in the factory. Travel will also be required for market research, company participation in trade shows and trend shows.
