Component Technician at PDS in Huntsville, Alabama

Job Description:

• Clean and passivate hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.
• Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and maintain chemical systems.
• Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.
• Package hardware and supplies for storage or shipment following strict standards.
• Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment, including pumps, tanks, filtration systems, and scales.
• Conduct general housekeeping of lab and clean room areas to maintain cleanliness and order.
• Adhere to safety regulations, including wearing protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, and other personal protective equipment.

• Strong attention to detail with a desire to solve problems and drive to resolve technical issues.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and use lifting equipment for heavier hardware.
• Initiative, strong work ethic, and adherence to directions and expectations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to use software systems and Microsoft Office Suite effectively.

• Experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical, or other precision components.
• Experience inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluid systems.
• Experience with applying coatings to aerospace components.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
