LaSalle Network has partnered with a premier healthcare provider in their search for an Accounts Receivable Clerk. Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities, including posting payments, reconciling accounts and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset.
Accounts Receivable Clerk Responsibilities:
Process and post payments from insurance companies, patients and other third-party payers accurately and timely
Reconcile accounts receivable transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a prompt and efficient manner
Follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid invoices to ensure timely resolution and maximization of revenue
Verify insurance coverage and benefits eligibility for patients, obtaining authorizations and referrals as needed
Respond to patient inquiries and requests regarding billing statements, payment plans and account balances in a professional and courteous manner
Collaborate with billing and coding staff to address coding errors, claim denials and other billing-related issues
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions and communications with patients and payers
Adhere to established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements governing accounts receivable management and billing practices
Accounts Receivable Clerk Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
Previous experience in healthcare billing, accounts receivable or medical office administration preferred
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with billing software or electronic health record (EHR) systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues and third-party payers
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing practices and regulatory requirements related to healthcare revenue cycle management is a plus
