Job Description
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, timely maintenance and repair of ready-mix concrete production equipment within an assigned area. Some basic job skills include welding, electrical repair, pluming repair, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance for a wide array of mechanical systems. Housekeeping and facility maintenance is also required. Job Responsibilities • Ability to safely and quickly diagnose and detect the root cause of equipment failure related to hydraulic systems, air systems, electrical, plumbing, and conveyors • Familiarity with standard and specialty tools for plant maintenance and the ability to use them safely • Perform routine maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and replacing components both on a scheduled or emergency setting. Good housekeeping is a must • Perform daily equipment inspections, document their conditions, and write corrective work orders when needed • Assist other technicians during complicated repairs • Write, disseminate, and maintain the necessary maintenance records • The ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, wheel loaders or the ability to learn these skills. CDL and medium-heavy truck driving experience is a plus • Communicate with and assist outside service vendors when completing maintenance tasks on site • Coordinate and oversee the work of other maintenance and plant personnel • Adhere to all OSHA, and MSHA safety standards/policies/regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds (PPE) • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
