This local utilities installation company specializes in telecom construction and has been a pillar in the community for many years. They're looking for a Director of Operations with excellent leadership skills to oversee a team of Managers, Superintendents, PM's, and Construction Managers. This role is highly visible, very impactful, and will work directly with customers, so a customer service mentality will be key!

In this role, you will:
Lead and train Managers (who have Superintendents, PM's, and Construction Managers reporting to them); empower them to be great leaders
Oversee a field operations team of 250+
Deal with and build trust with customers proactively on each project from cradle to grave, solve production issues, safety concerns, identify bottlenecks in field and in the back office. Know your jobs inside and out
Identify bottlenecks and minimize customer impact
Organize and plan the workload, crews, and subs to meet deadlines
Financial forecast and meet targets month to month
Run organizational processes, procedures, and monitoring functions
What you will need:
Strong communication and leadership skills - you can speak effectively to leadership, direct reports, customers, and the field
Very strong experience in the field
Experience in the telecommunications industry (very strong OSP/outside plant management)
Technical skills and knowledge in underground cabling and aerial splicing
Project management skills - manage construction projects with multiple internal teams and external stakeholders.
Be assertive and proactive (with staffing needs and customer issues)
Strength in forecasting and financial planning (financial management)
Utilities industry management
Experience at smaller companies, rather than large ones
