WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the Property Accounting team.
  • Review workpapers and post entries created by Property Accounting.
  • Manage the month end close process ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Initial review of monthly trial balance over assigned areas of revenue, property expenses and capex.
  • Assist with external financial audit and review supporting schedules.
  • Review and maintain policy and procedure documentation.
  • Evaluate team workflows to propose and implement improvements in efficiency.
  • Monitor team performance, available capacity, and training needs.
  • Work with teams on variance explanations and expense reclasses.
  • Maintain best-in-class quality control, ensuring on-time delivery and report accuracy while identifying opportunities for data quality improvement.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting & reporting leadership experience
  • Yardi experience (single-family) or Real Estate/Property Management experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate and present data to key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to improve and streamline multiple processes across different functions of department.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
