WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Manage the day-to-day functions of the Property Accounting team.
Review workpapers and post entries created by Property Accounting.
Manage the month end close process ensuring deadlines are met.
Initial review of monthly trial balance over assigned areas of revenue, property expenses and capex.
Assist with external financial audit and review supporting schedules.
Review and maintain policy and procedure documentation.
Evaluate team workflows to propose and implement improvements in efficiency.
Monitor team performance, available capacity, and training needs.
Work with teams on variance explanations and expense reclasses.
Maintain best-in-class quality control, ensuring on-time delivery and report accuracy while identifying opportunities for data quality improvement.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of accounting & reporting leadership experience
Yardi experience (single-family) or Real Estate/Property Management experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to communicate and present data to key stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
Ability to improve and streamline multiple processes across different functions of department.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
