Senior Accountant

Location: Tampa FL

Status: Exempt

Leeds Professional Resources is working with a client in the Tampa area that is looking for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. It is also responsible for various accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and assisting with financial reporting.

Core Responsibilities:

Operating Entities:

  • Coordinate the financial reporting cycle for various entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain general ledgers, including posting revenues, expenses, and managing accounts receivable and payable.
  • Independently reconcile bank/brokerage accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review standard financial statements monthly.
  • Harmonize financial information across reporting systems.
  • Preserve comprehensive record-keeping for all entities.
  • Collaborate with third-party compliance personnel on SEC and FINRA reporting.
  • Finalize monthly invoicing for professional services.

Fund and Special Purpose Entities:
  • Manage general ledgers for LLCs, handling cash flow, accounts receivable, and payable.
  • Reconcile bank/brokerage accounts and rectify discrepancies.
  • Review monthly financial statements and ensure consistency across reporting systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive record-keeping for entities.
  • Finalize monthly invoicing for various professional services.
  • Oversee monthly draw reconciliations for real estate projects.
  • Ensure treasury functions are efficiently managed.
  • Collaborate with fund administrators to maintain accurate fund reporting in line with GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Facilitate capital calls/distributions and review related calculations and investor notices.
  • Review quarterly financial statements and investor capital statements.
  • Complete investment subscription documentation.

General Responsibilities:
  • Compile tax documents for third-party tax preparers.
  • Support auditors, tax preparers, and valuation experts.
  • Manage junior team members.
  • Assist accounting team with ad hoc tasks.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct and iPaladin preferred.
  • Strong ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Desire to work in a small, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive with suggesting process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
