Purpose



Responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the Mentoring Program. The case manager ensures program quality and performance related to recruiting, screening, matching, monitoring and closing the relationships with the mentor and child, and communicates with the mentor, parent/guardian, and the child throughout the relationship.



Responsibilities





  • Recruit, orient and arrange for appropriate training for mentors.

  • Provide intake and assessment for refugee youth (mentee) referred to the program.

  • Match mentee with mentors.

  • Prepare mentee and parent/guardian for program participation.

  • Perform and oversee participant screening, training, matching support and supervision, recognition, and closure activities.

  • Maintain ongoing contact and supervision of mentors/mentees.

  • Periodically assess quality of match and share resources, advice, solutions to relationship challenges and opportunities with mentors/mentees, parents, or guardians.

  • Manage the planning and implementation of mentor/mentee group events.

  • Coordinate and conduct community outreach, workshops, and community presentations in coordination with the CRS Program Coordinator.

  • Provide case management services as needed.

  • Coordinate with area social service providers to maximize services to mentees.

  • Maintain case files on all case management clients.

  • Document activity related to mentees' attendance, performance, and evaluation.

  • Maintain relative reports and statistics related to mentee activities and program services.

  • Responsible for staying abreast of new resources available and to changes made to existing programs and services in the area.

  • Responsible for entering accurate client information, case notes in a timely manner, and all other required forms and documents.

  • Maintain an active list of mentees and their individual service agreements to ensure that identified objectives are met.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.




Qualifications



.



Education:




  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent professional experience with emphasis in social work or related and/or equivalent work experience.




Experience:





  • Minimum of four years' experience in working with youth, mentoring programs, and case management services. Minimum two years experience working with refugee and immigrant populations.




Other Skills:





  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as assigned.


  • Spanish required (spoken and written).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

  • Strong writing skills and computer literacy are required.

  • Strong professional ethics and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills




Special Requirements





  • Must have a valid driver's license and suitable transportation.

  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.

  • Background check required.

  • Level 2 Fingerprint check required.
