As an Accounts Receivable Analyst, you will have an important role in helping the company manage its cash flow and you will be responsible for the collection and analysis of customer receivables, which include receipting, collecting, depositing, posting, and reporting of accounts receivables and general ledger analysis. Other duties include preparing reconciliations to ensure the accurate processing of financial transactions. Therefore, you must have a strong general knowledge of accepted accounting principles, business practices, and collection procedures for processing and aggregating third-party receivables.
Job Duties:
Support of the collection efforts of the company's A/R accounts across all divisions (retail brands, foodservice, contract, and corporate brands)
Handle high volume accounts, collection resolution, and third-party escalation
Conduct credit reviews and provide risk rating assessments and recommendations to A/R Manager
Responsible for daily cash application of assigned accounts, issue customer statements and transactional efficiencies
Provide analysis and perform general ledger duties
Work cross-functionally with MZB internal teams; collaborate with Sales as needed
Collect all due and past due receivables, ensuring that collection performance is within the given guidelines
Review individual scorecards to ensure portfolio is in line with department KPI's
Perform monthly analysis of accounts in an effort to research and resolve any unapplied cash, credits, or disputes regarding payments from customers
Escalate disputed and non-responsiveness situations to internal/external contacts
Partner and be a close liaison with AR and corporate accounting teams to ensure timely and correct application of all incoming payments to the respective customer accounts
Authorize credit releases and system overrides
Follow up with customers on overdue account transactions; this may require extensive time on phone and emailing, therefore you must be comfortable juggling priorities and following up as needed
Effectively communicate to a wide audience of business partners regarding financial risks and exposure to the organization (Sales, Order Management, Finance)
Demonstrate savvy business acumen and negotiation skills
Work with account receivable manager to identify accounts which may present a business credit risk, require credit hold, or outside collection escalation
Record information about financial status of customer and documents status of collection efforts
Perform AR and collection-related customer requests and inquiries professionally and promptly
Qualifications & Requirements:
BA or BS in Accounting strongly preferred
2-4 years of AR experience required
General Accounting experience required
Knowledge of balancing procedures and lockbox arrangements required
Proven understanding of collections process, with strong cash application/processing skills
Demonstrated customer service skills with attention to detail
Must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
Familiarity with an ERP system is a plus
