COMPENSATION: $16-$17 hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Plant Laborer will perform multiple plant duties safely and efficiently while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources to adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures and comply with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, TCEQ, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures by MSHA/OSHA and Alleyton policies.
• Safely perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, complete daily equipment reports/plant inspections, and report unsafe equipment/conditions to the supervisor or foreman.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate equipment safely and productively as assigned continuously.
• Must be able or willing to learn to operate other mobile equipment, including haul trucks, motor graders, water trucks, and loaders.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices on plants and equipment using water hoses and shovels.
• Assist maintenance personnel with plant repairs when needed. Perform preventative maintenance.
• Cross-train on other positions in the plant to serve as a relief to other operators.
• Demonstrates a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level and works as a team player.
• Assist with upkeep and greasing all bearings in the plant.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience safely operating heavy mobile equipment or the aggregates industry is preferred. General maintenance abilities are required. Proficient knowledge of MSHA/OSHA safety requirements.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as necessary.
• Evening and night shifts are expected.
