Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting Sales activities across all APL business segments, the SSR role develops an in-depth understanding of APL business by directly handling the Embassy Household Goods segment for USEC regional customers; providing backup duties for traveling Trade and Sales personnel in North America; and through business analysis duties for APL's Trade. This position is an entry-level Sales position with robust Trade analysis duties offering an ideal entryway to further Sales and Trade roles
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Embassy Household Goods
Regular engagement with EHHG customer base. Routinely reaching out to assigned accounts, supplemented by constant coordination with Pricing and Customer Service teams
Follow-up after quotation and post-bid with customer base, providing actionable intel to Pricing teams.
Increase Year-Over-Year bookings for assigned accounts
Constant review of assigned customer base, providing recommendations to Trade for Tariff and/or Service
Contract activities to promote EHHG segment growth
Data analysis of industry data showing EHHG trends outside of APL by use of Panjiva 25%
Develop LEADS (unassigned) customers; Support APL Sales
Constant evaluation & support of customer base for qualifying towards greater Sales representation
Serve as backup for Sales & Trade reps on-vacation or traveling (including Military)
Manage Account Territories for APL to ensure proper care of customer base
Close working relationship with Trade Pricing team to assist in Bid Preparation
Target six accounts quarterly to develop and transfer to sales representative 15%
Contribution analysis; Account assignment tracking & budget updates to Trade and Sales

Customer Experience
Perform Customer Onboarding Process for newly signed contracts
Perform New Customer Validation Process
Assist in dispute and collection efforts for LEADS Territory
Process email communication and ensure timely response on commercial related inquiries
Maintain library of information to include price list, routing maps, Trade Changes, etc
Process Credit Applications & VID oversight for contracts
Partner code maintenance for Sales/Trade team 15%

Preferred: Familiarity with: LARA, Load Engine, and Panjiva
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience in Shipping Industry preferred
