Vice President, Solution Train Engineer

Your Team

As a Vice President, Solution Train Engineer in the Chief Technology Office you will partner with Chief Product Owners, Solution Architect Engineers, and delivery professionals. You will ensure strategy and execution alignment through collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to your deep expertise and experience in delivery, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership demeanor and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Location: Newark, NJ hybrid

Here is what you can expect on a typical day


  • Serve as delivery leader for a cohort of up to 6 Agile Release Trains (ARTs) teams and the broader organization; each ART will consist of up to 10 Agile teams.

  • Enable the flawless delivery of the ARTs' committed outcomes by identifying bottlenecks and removing impediments while also fostering opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Coordinate dependencies within the primary portfolio and across other portfolios in the Enterprise.

  • Drive strategic alignment through collaboration with Portfolio Engineer (primarily), Chief Product Owners (CPOs), Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Solution Architect Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Tech Leads and other partners and collaborators on the ART and across the organization.

  • Create organizational Agile maturity through contributions of improved delivery methods for responsible ARTs and/or across portfolios.

  • Identify and contribute practices to Prudential's Agile methodology.

  • Provide an outstanding blend of tactical and strategic leadership and coaching/mentorship relevant to Agile execution and implementation for a team of 4 to 7 RTEs.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring


  • Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer or experience as a Solution Train Engineer,

  • Fluency in multiple Agile methodologies, including Scaled Agile Framework®, with proven expertise in scaling and delivery across teams of various maturity including start-ups.

  • Experience navigating and influencing matrixed businesses and functions while building strong relationships.

  • Expertise in all aspects of Agile Team Facilitation including Pre PI-Planning, PI Planning, Scrum-of-Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt

  • Proficiency in multiple Agile delivery toolchains, including Jira, Jira Align, and Miro

  • Passion for and success record in building new products, capabilities, solutions, and teams

  • Ability to lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization

  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business

  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and solving challenges

  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong leadership skills, both strategic and tactical, with a high degree of emotional intelligence

  • Empowers teams to be accountable for solving problems and promotes an inclusive engagement among a cross section of resources

Preferred Qualifications


  • Certified Release Train Engineer certification

  • Experience in serving as a Solution Train Engineer or Release Train Engineer within the financial services industry across multiple verticals, be they technical or business in nature

  • High degree of comfort in interacting with Senior Leadership Teams

The salary range for this role is from $180,600.00 to $244,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
