JOB OVERVIEW:

The Plant Controller is responsible for coordinating the plant's daily and monthly financial activities, including the plant budget and business planning activities, in alignment with corporate policies. They also give financial direction to improve site financial performance and set plant cost measures.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with the VP of Accounting/Finance to determine the most suitable cost structure for manufacturing activities.
• Manage all accounting operations that are related to G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and specialized cost accounting and inventory recognition.
• Manage the month-end closing process and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the plant.
• Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management, along with recommended actions.
• Prepare forecasts of income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows for the plant.
• Collaborate with all levels of the company to achieve plant or corporate objectives.
• Present complex financial and operational information to various departmental leaders. This will help drive business decisions.
• Collaborate with the Site Director, shared staff accountants, and senior management. Explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis.
• Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary. This ensures reporting integrity, safeguards company assets, and identifies risks.
• Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as local statutory requirements.



JOB EXPERIENCE:

3+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing accounting role



KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques, financial statement analysis, and projection.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in cost accounting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and ERP financial software; familiarity with Deacom System is preferred.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and other documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from the business.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences at all levels.
• Collaborative and service-oriented approach with the Accounting Team and all other colleagues.
• Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal.
• Demonstrate strong and pragmatic business acumen.



EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or closely related field
