A great UHY client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of general ledger experience, a solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, advanced excel experience, and an ability to automate processes.
The Assistant Controller role is an onsite position.
Assistant Controller General Responsibilities:
Month-end close and other accounting activities
General accounting such as fixed assets, pre-paid, accruals
Various financial analysis
Account Reconciliations and journal entries
General Ledger processing
Chart of Accounts Maintenance
Assist with annual review process and interaction with the external auditors
Assist with budgets/forecasting and annual planning processes
Regular communication and interaction with all levels of management regarding financial matters
Process improvement and automation
Other accounting/finance duties as assigned
Assistant Controller Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
5+ years general accounting experience required
Experience in a supervisory/management position an asset
Thorough understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers, and accounting
Advanced excel skills
Experience with accounting process automation
Very strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to work on site in Buchanan MI 5 days per week
Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
