Robert Half has partnered with a prominent real estate family office based in Denver, CO. The family office specializes in the development and management of a diverse portfolio of real estate assets with a heavy focus on industrial and commercial properties.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Tax Director to join a small and stable team and work closely with the controller and company ownership to manage day to day accounting and tax work. As a Tax Director, you will play a crucial role in managing the tax aspects of all of the real estate investments and properties in development. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with extensive experience in tax, particularly in partnership accounting and real estate transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of tax planning and compliance for the real estate portfolio.
  • Provide guidance and expertise on tax implications of complex buy and sell transactions.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize our investment returns.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external advisors to coordinate tax reporting and documentation.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, including partnership tax returns and individual tax filings for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in tax laws to advise senior management on potential impacts.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in tax, with a focus on partnership accounting.
  • Strong understanding of real estate tax principles and regulations.
  • Experience with complex real estate transactions and calculations of future tax implications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
