Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under moderate supervision performs advanced cleaning procedures to maintain interior of campus buildings and supervises day-to-day activities of custodians in assigned areas.


Essential Duties Summary:



  • Assists with planning, organizing, and developing specific goals and objectives relative to maintaining cleanliness of the campus buildings.

  • Oversees and coordinates custodial activities including general cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings.

  • Collects recyclable materials from containers and empties materials into designated recycle containers.

  • Inspects cleaning and general maintenance of assigned buildings and recycle bins and equipment.

  • Prepares weekly maintenance reports of assigned buildings.

  • Reports defective equipment, fixtures, plumbing and hazards to safety to the appropriate department.

  • Performs detailed cleaning of assigned building, such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, and vacuuming floors.

  • Serves as lead custodian on project work assigned by management

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

High School diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent and specialized or technical training .

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of:


  • Specialized practices, equipment and procedures.

  • Requires some seasoning and experience beyond the entry level to conduct moderately complex work. Demonstrates general competence and growing knowledge and understanding of the overall function or discipline.

Work Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience.


Working/Environmental Conditions:



  • Working conditions involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and require following basic safety precautions.

  • Physical demands include moderate physical activity that includes prolonged standing and/or walking, handling moderate weight objects and/or using or carrying equipment.

  • Bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
