Estimator/Project Engineer - Thermoforming and Injection Molding
Purpose: As an Estimator/Project Engineer specializing in thermoforming and plastic injection molding, your primary role is to provide accurate estimates and project management support for the production of plastic components. Leveraging your expertise in these manufacturing processes, you will ensure seamless integration of new products and drive efficiency improvements within our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate precise estimates for thermoformed and injection-molded plastic parts, considering factors such as material costs, tooling requirements, and production processes.
Input estimates into the ERP system, ensuring seamless integration of materials and production routing specific to thermoforming and injection molding processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear documentation accompanies each estimate, facilitating understanding and alignment across departments.
Oversee the introduction of new plastic components into our manufacturing processes, ensuring documentation and processes are optimized for thermoforming and injection molding requirements.
Collect, analyze, and disseminate data to track and improve productivity and efficiency within thermoforming and injection molding operations.
Review existing processes, proposing and implementing standard improvements tailored to thermoforming and injection molding processes.
Evaluate processes specific to thermoforming and injection molding, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues related to thermoforming and injection molding processes.
Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on thermoforming and/or plastic injection molding.
Proficiency in using ERP systems for estimating and project management.
Strong understanding of thermoforming and injection molding processes, including tooling design and material selection.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset, with the ability to collect and interpret data to drive process improvements.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
