Job Description:

Seeking a PMO for a private equity funded start-up that is bringing digital innovation to the logistics and transportation sector. This is a subscription model that will disrupt the current transportation logistics ecosystem bringing an extensive e-commerce platform for trailer rental, insurance, parking, parts, and other value-added services.

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS PMO EXPERIENCE & Freight and Logistics

Location: Chicago

Build and manage the PMO's strategic and operational frameworks, ensuring projects align with organizational goals.

  • Actively participate in all aspects of project management, including hands-on development of documentation, detailed reports, and comprehensive project plans.
  • Management: Drive and manage expectations for project stakeholders, including leadership, team members, and external partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project goals and timelines.
  • Processes: Utilize and optimize project management tools such as Monday.com and Product Board to maintain oversight of all project aspects, track progress, and facilitate communication.
  • Analytics: Develop and maintain detailed project dashboards for reporting to senior management, ensuring transparency and timely updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Initiatives: Support the leadership team in strategic decision-making processes, provide insights and analysis on projects, and ensure that strategic initiatives are driven forward effectively.
  • Excellence: Spearhead the creation and continuous improvement of project management methodologies, incorporating best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that the PMO works seamlessly with all departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Management: Lead change management efforts associated with project outcomes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Qualifications:
  • Freight and Logistics experience
  • experience in project management or a similar role within a PMO.
  • capability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com and Product Board.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple projects at the same time.
  • interpersonal skills with an ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
