The Sr. Director of Plant Operations is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the entire production facility. The director oversees the comprehensive management of plant operations and works with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. They play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity to meet production targets while prioritizing product quality and safety.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant performance.
Production Planning: Oversee the planning and scheduling of production activities to meet demand while ensuring resource utilization and minimizing downtime.
Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
Capacity Optimization: Assess and optimize production capacity to meet current and future demands, considering equipment limitations and potential expansion opportunities.
Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to plant operations teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge operational efficiency, track progress, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four (4) year degree in industrial management or industrial engineering, (required)
Ten (10) years of experience in frozen food processing, preferably in muscle batter and breading processing
A working knowledge of the breading, batter, and par-fry production process a plus
A working knowledge of product costing, with respect to yields, labor costs, and overhead costs
Mechanically inclined and knowledgeable of equipment operations
Strong, clear, and detailed written and verbal communication skills
