We are seeking a candidate who owns Responsibility, Integrity, Accountability, Courage, and Compassion to provide leadership in promoting quality assurance principles throughout the organization. The Quality Manager should develop departmental strategy and vision to ensure adherence with customer expectations and manage all aspects of the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in support of regulatory and certification requirements such as ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and QSR 21 CFR 820 (cGMP). Resolve all customer quality issues through definition of the product, advance quality planning, and prompt resolution of rejections. Drive continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

DUTIES:
  • Initiate and implement quality improvement activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective process performance.
  • Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, improvement, testing, validation, and inspection.
  • Monitor customer rejections, containment, and facilitate resolution, using team-oriented problem-solving methods such as 8-D.
  • Develop and continuously maintain the 'Integrated' Quality & Environmental Manual and company procedures, communicating significant changes to relevant personnel.
  • Oversee and monitor quality system metrics, bringing unfavorable trends to the attention of top management and reporting serious issues to the COO if not resolved through normal channels.
  • Establish and monitor quality and basic skills training programs within budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor the duties and performance of all Quality Assurance personnel, ensuring their maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of PPAP and FA submissions to customers.
  • Pursue and achieve significant customer certifications and audits required to obtain and retain business.
  • Promote cost-effective and timely advance quality planning with cross-functional team involvement, including the development of Control Plans, Process FMEA's, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Assist in establishing guidelines and requirements for supplier certification, and support Materials Manager in supplier evaluation and performance measurement.
  • Assist in the development of new products to meet customer needs and attend customer trials as required.
  • Assist in the creation of COC, COA, COO, and other test reports as necessary.
  • Oversee the Internal Change Request process and support customer Engineering Change Order (ECO) process for external changes.
  • Oversee the company warranty system, including RMAs, rework orders, and customer credits.
  • Ensure company products comply with regulatory requirements, including allergen and other compliance statements, labeling, SDS, Conflict Mineral requirements, and test protocols. Develop policies as needed.
  • Conduct or supervise audits of incoming, in-process, and finished goods and assist in determining the disposition of rejects.
  • Serve as the Management Representative for ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001, or any other similar standards.
  • Travel as required (typically less than 5% of the time) to support company quality objectives.

All manufacturing processes, customer names and contacts, and cost information are kept confidential to those outside of the company, unless specifically requested to be disclosed by management.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
  • General ability to lead the quality program.
  • Timelines in meeting stated objectives.
  • Scores awarded for customer audits.
  • Saturation and depth of employee training.
  • External rejections as a percentage of sales.
  • Recommendations made to top management as requirements to support and achieve company quality objectives.
  • Continuous improvement of all applicable quality system measurables.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4- year college degree or 2-year technical degree
  • 10 years quality management and/or supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in use of MRP systems, root cause/corrective actions, Lean, 5-S, continuous improvement, and creation of Control Plans & Process FMEAs.
