Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix, quick turn, and ISO 9001 2015 certified sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support multiple assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, our company serves customers in energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.

We are looking to add several Engineers to our growing team to keep up with customer demand as we continue to grow.

An Engineer at Ameritex will play a crucial role in design, programming, responding to customers, fulfilling rfqs, sourcing materials, and planning jobs as required.

A successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The position will require competencies that include proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD platforms, knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods, and experience communicating sheet metal design for manufacturability feedback with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of fabrication operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality can be achieved.

  • Prepare quotes taking into consideration such factors as materials, tooling, operations and run times.

  • Work closely with shop personnel, Quality, Engineering, Management, and other team members to successfully satisfy the customer.

  • Experience with sourcing material and outside services.

  • Ability to comprehend labor variations between prototype, low volume, and high-volume quantities.

  • Create and modify models in both 2D and 3D CAD environments (Solidworks preferred)

  • Create and modify blueprints or shop drawings per Ameritex procedures

  • Create CNC programs for parts as required

Preffered Knowledge of:

  • Experience with solidworks or comparable 3D CAD platform

  • Sheet metal design and DFM. (Preferred)

  • Understanding of programming and set up of laser, punch press, press brake. (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of welding and cost estimations on welding. (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of Fiber Laser Tube cutting

  • Knowledge of Tube Bending

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).

  • Protocols, standards, technologies, and machining applications.

Ability to:
• Review customer RFQs to determine material requirements, processing and job routing.
• Communicate with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations.
• Work with outside vendors/services to achieve best possible prices.
• Consolidate all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time in engineering, fabrication, post fabrication assembly, finishing and QC.
• Create detailed quote packages for final review.
• Managing quote logs daily and KPI tracking
• Interrogate engineering solid models, drawings and is familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Create, manipulate, and modify solid models
• Provide technical support to machine operators and process engineers during Metal fabrication operations.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational discipline
• Communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Effectively review and analyze DFM problems.
• Operate effectively in a team environment.
