Ascent Resources is seeking an EHS Technician. This position will be located in the Cambridge, OH area and will report to the EHS Field Manager - Environmental. The EHS Technician will support multiple environmental programs with a primary responsibility to perform Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) surveys within the company Leak Detection and Repair Program (LDAR). This person will be expected to be a self-performer and handle most routine problems independently and possess outstanding communication skills. They will establish a high level of ownership towards all work they are assigned. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Support Ascent’s Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program:
Conduct inspections per company standards and Federal EPA regulations, utilizing OGI camera
Develop and maintain inspection schedule ensuring assigned tasks are completed as assigned
Maintain Ascent’s LDAR database and document methane leaks per company standards and regulations
Effectively communicate with EHS, Ops and maintenance staff
Conduct follow-up monitoring and communicate results in a timely manner
Maintain current LDAR procedures and work practices
Maintain accurate data within EHS management systems ensuring data is well presented and auditable
Conduct, document and track EPA Method 22 visual emissions observations of flares and combustors while communicating issues to owning departments
Conduct audits within the three (3) primary regulatory areas of environmental compliance – air, water and solid waste
Execute routine special projects as assigned by supervision in a thorough and timely manner
Provide training to field staff on a multitude of environmental topics (able to confidently speak to an audience)
Analyze large amounts of data supporting development and enhancement of company policies, procedures and standards
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to participate in productive discussions through various forums
Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize competing interests, and remain flexible in a dynamic, high-energy, high-pace environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with local and federal regulators
Education & Work Experience RequiredMinimum Requirements:
2-year degree or related EHS experience in an industrial environment
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to adhere to an aggressive compliance schedule
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to present regulatory concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences
