Job Description:

We are looking for an energetic CAD Designer/Estimator with manufacturing knowledge in the industrial and architectural markets. The CAD Designer/Estimator will provide world-class customer service to our internal and external customers. This role will be working under the direction of the site leader and will be responsible for delivery of design/build project, work, from conceptual design through drawing completion and final costing.

Job Responsibilities:

Estimating/Costing:

  • Receives requests for price quotations and change orders directly from customers and distributors.
  • Makes price quotations using calculations and programs to cost projects.
  • Must be able to grasp design and assembly concepts to prepare complete piece-part Bill of Materials for entire acoustical products and facilities.

CAD/Service:

  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Uses a computer to retrieve customer information, enter quotes, and other duties essential to the job.
  • Interprets customer requirements and determines individual system components to obtain accurate cost.
  • Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software.
  • Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and customers.
  • Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques.
  • Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and customers.
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
  • Prepare detailed construction and fabrication drawings for wide range of acoustical products for the Architectural market, including broadcast studios, concert halls, music rooms, product test chambers, auditoriums, etc.
  • Design, organize and implement products from initial concept to manufacturing.
  • Preparing cut sheets and procedure sheets for the factory.
  • Professional coordination direct with customers and representatives is required.
  • Work with others to ensure packing lists and installation instructions and hardware are complete.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication company.
  • Knowledge with ERP systems such as Visual, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations.
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing procedures (Machining, Wood Working, Etc.)
  • Excellent technical aptitude, analytical and detail oriented. Technical ability to learn a diverse product line.
  • Ability to coordinate and document changes throughout project submittal process.
  • Experience with Auto CAD, Vectric, Fusion 360 and/or other computer aided design/machining programs.
  • Able to read architectural plans/blueprints.
  • Able to be flexible and accommodate changes to projects.
