Description:


The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical aspects of Movement Disorders and Translational Research. Molecular biology of movement disorders and application to biomarkers preferred. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. The ideal candidate must be board certified or eligible in Neurology.


Teaching responsibilities may include teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical movement disorders rotations and in formal didactics such as Brain and Behavior class. Mentoring of post-doctoral fellows and educational leadership may also be components of teaching responsibilities.


Clinical responsibilities may include providing care for patients with movement disorders with a focus on Parkinson's disease, dystonia, ataxia and Huntington's disease. Clinical care may include treatment with botulinum toxin and programming neurostimulators.


Research responsibilities may include collaborative or independent research within the specific area of movement disorders.
